Tracey Emin (b. 1963, London) is a celebrated British artist known for her provocative and deeply personal work. Currently, she divides her time between London, the South of France, and Margate, UK. In 2023, Emin founded the Tracey Emin Foundation and Art School in Margate, providing residencies for emerging international artists and hosting captivating exhibitions.
Emin’s recent public commissions highlight her diverse artistic talent. In 2023, she created “The Doors,” a striking set of bronze doors for the National Portrait Gallery in London. In 2022, she unveiled “The Mother,” an imposing outdoor bronze sculpture displayed at the Munch Museum in Oslo. Additionally, in 2018, she installed “I Want My Time With You,” a mesmerizing neon installation at St Pancras Station in London.
In 2007, Tracey Emin had the honor of representing Great Britain at the prestigious 52nd Venice Biennale. Recognized for her significant contributions to the visual arts, she was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2012. Tracey Emin’s influence and dedication continue to inspire the art world, making her a pivotal figure in contemporary art.
