An unusual documenta

Every five years the massive documenta show in Kassel, Germany, looks to anticipate the art world’s curatorial trends. documenta fifteen (to Sept 25) has been curated by Indonesian artist collective Lumbung inviting other collectives to issue invites.

documenta 14 stirs up a confusion

The fourteenth edition of Dokumenta just launched in Kassel, following its Athens outing in April. This year for the first time Dokumenta took place at two cities in two countries due to its conceptual framework that concentrated on the duality of South and North instead of East and West.

“Syrians are filming their own death”, are the first lines of the ‘Pixelated Revolution’ performance. A type of performance piece which aims to study the various tips and directions on mobile phone documentation, as shared via the medium of Facebook and other virtual communication tools during the first year’s events of the Syrian revolution.
