Bold Tendencies is a not-for-profit arts organization that has transformed the rooftop spaces of Peckham’s Multi-Storey Car Park into an iconic cultural hub in the heart of South London. Since its establishment, this once-disused building has become a much-loved place of culture and community.
Open to all, Bold Tendencies has welcomed over 1.5 million visitors to its summer seasons, celebrating the joy of public spaces in the city and the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary venue.
Each year, Bold Tendencies delivers an ambitious artistic program encompassing Visual Arts, Creative Learning, and Live Events. These annual programs revolve around major themes, featuring responses from emerging voices alongside renowned international artists in visual art, music, dance, opera, poetry, and readings. This approach provides diverse entry points for the public, artists, and audiences while engaging with broader cultural movements and urgent conversations.
Our year-round Creative Learning program offers free and accessible initiatives that provide space for local groups and individuals to imagine, create, and appreciate the arts, fostering a sense of joy and community.
We work closely with groups and organizations in Peckham, Southwark, and beyond, including schools, family and community centers, youth clubs, and health and social services. Our activities celebrate creativity, inspiration, and experimentation, focusing on everyday creativity and community well-being.
