Launched today Thursday Art on the Underground present French artist Laure Prouvost’s first public commission in the UK, an ambitious city-wide series of poster infiltrating advertising sites across all 270 London Underground stations.
Art on the Underground has announced its programme for 2019, comprising major new works from internationally renowned artists.
British artist Linder is to present a major new commission for Art on the Underground at Southwark
station, launching on Thursday 8th November 2018, and on view until October 2019.
Art on the Underground will present a major commission by British artist Heather Phillipson for the disused platform at Gloucester Road Underground station. Phillipson’s commission will be unveiled on 7th June 2018, and will fill the 80m platform at the station.
Celebrations for the centenary of the birth of radical theatre director Joan Littlewood continue with Art on the Underground’s specially commissioned film by artist Mel Brimfield and songwriter and composer Gwyneth Herbert
