Jordan Wolfson (b. 1980, New York, USA) is an American contemporary artist known for immersive installations, animatronic sculptures and digital works that explore technology, control and psychological experience. Jordan Wolfson works across video, virtual reality and robotics, creating confrontational environments that engage viewers physically and emotionally.
Wolfson’s practice often uses animated characters, animatronics and CGI to address themes of violence, desire, identity and media influence. His works frequently place the viewer in unsettling situations, using humour and discomfort to examine how images and narratives shape perception. Jordan Wolfson’s installations are highly controlled and choreographed, combining advanced technology with theatrical staging.
Jordan Wolfson has exhibited internationally in major museums and galleries. His work is considered influential within contemporary art for its use of digital media and robotics, as well as its exploration of power, spectatorship and the emotional impact of immersive environments.
