Damien Hirst new paintings to be shown at Frieze by Gagosian
Gagosian to present a special solo presentation of Damien Hirst new paintings in commemoration of the twentieth anniversary of Frieze London.
Frieze London was founded in 2003 by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover. The fair is one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs, focusing only on contemporary art and living artists, and takes place each October in The Regent’s Park, in the heart of London.
Established in 2003 against the stunning backdrop of London’s Regent’s Park, this spectacular event is the brainchild of the visionary creators of Frieze magazine. As the years have passed, this fair has grown into a global phenomenon, reaching across four major cities and firmly establishing its dominance in the realm of art fairs.
At its core, the iconic Frieze Art Fair, affectionately known as Frieze London, remains the cornerstone of this grand showcase. The fair’s portfolio has expanded to encompass distinctive editions, including Frieze Masters (2012) in London – a homage to art originating before the year 2000. The influence of Frieze now stretches to the heart of New York with Frieze New York (2012), the captivating allure of Los Angeles with Frieze Los Angeles (2019), and the cultural melting pot of Seoul with Frieze Seoul (2022).
2023 marked a momentous milestone as Frieze Art Fair expanded its horizons through the acquisition of The Armory Show in New York and EXPO Chicago, reaffirming its status as a true titan in the world of art. It is noteworthy that in 2016, the esteemed American holding company Endeavor secured a majority stake in Frieze, propelling the fair into a new era of boundless artistic excellence.
Discover the pinnacle of contemporary artistry at Frieze Art Fair. Join us to redefine the exploration of art and to revel in creativity that knows no boundaries.”
