This weekend is your last chance to vist BIG DEAL No7 an amalgamation of imaginary ideas and processes related and created as a response to the genre of Science Fiction, this exhibition features; sculpture, photography, painting, film, video and audio installations by some 100 international artists and guest students from RCA.
An invitation to explore the strong links between Rome and New York in the 60s as a starting point, how they influenced each other and how prevalent they are today in Contemporary Art.
Two completely different artists both from opposite side of the spectrum, material versus concept, have been exhibiting together for the last 5 years. Artists working together is nothing new. Van Gogh shared a studio with Gauguin in Arles, the south of France, or Picasso and Braque at the start of early Cubism in Paris. Sharing the experience of artmaking is still a very stimulating idea for artists.
