180 Studios, SUUM Project and Fact have announced LUX, a major new exhibition of contemporary media art, taking place at 180 The Strand, London. Featuring the artists: a’strict; Refik Anadol; Je Baak; Cecilia Bengolea; Cao Yuxi; Es Devlin; iart studio; Julian Knxx; Carsten Nicolai; Random International; Hito Steyerl; Universal Everything
Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema and Art, 1905–2016 focuses on the ways in which artists have dismantled and reassembled the conventions of cinema—screen, projection, darkness—to create new experiences of the moving image. The exhibition will fill the Whitney Museum’s 18,000-square-foot fifth-floor galleries, and will include a film series in the third-floor theatre.
100+ artworks show the impact of computer and Internet technologies on artists from the mid-1960s to the present day.
