Taking place during Frieze London, Clarissa is a tightly curated group exhibition that spans generations and captures the urgency, complexity, and breadth of the featured artistic practices. As London continues to navigate its ever-evolving role in the international art market, Clarissa emerges as a timely addition to the week’s programme.

“Clarissa is led by artists, much like the magazine. Our goal is to create a space that fosters dialogue, discovery, and connection. Above all, what matters most to us is building and sustaining a community.”

— Albert Riera Galceran, co-founder and editor-in-chief of émergent magazine

“émergent’s curatorial approach has been a commitment to presenting artists whose practices speak to the present. Rather than reinforcing conventional hierarchies or divisions, we have aimed to create space for an entangled dialogue—one that reflects the complexity of artistic lineage. With Clarissa, we want to bring that curatorial position into a physical space.”

— Reuben Beren James, co-founder and editor-in-chief of émergent magazine

Each edition of Clarissa will be staged in a different city and align with major moments in the international art calendar, extending émergent’s editorial ethos into physical space through showcasing practices unbound by geography, generation, or medium. The first edition, developed in dialogue with Soft Commodity, will establish the framework for this itinerant model and bring Clarissa into being as both a platform for discovery and a catalyst for conversation across global contexts.

“Soft Commodity was founded in response to the present moment, seeking to unsettle inherited models. Clarissa reflects this shift, tracing the changing dynamics of the market, where resonance carries more weight than convention and value is shaped through circulation and meaning.”

— Linnea Skoglösa, co-founder of Soft Commodity

Mack, François Durel, Graham Wiebe, Hamish Pearch, Hilary Lloyd, Jan Vorisek, Jasmine Gregory, Jef Geys, Josef Strau, Joel Wycherley, Justin Chance, Kayode Ojo, Kembra Pfahler, Michael Dean, Michel Majerus, Oscar Enberg, Patricia L.
