Tomás Saraceno (b. 1973, San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina) creates expansive, speculative works that merge art, architecture, science and ecology. Known for his floating structures, web-like installations and research-driven projects, he imagines new ways of inhabiting the planet—ones rooted in interdependence rather than extraction. Spider webs, aerosolar sculptures and planetary models recur throughout his practice, serving as both material and metaphor for collective living.
Saraceno’s work often unfolds through collaboration with scientists, engineers and communities, positioning the studio as a site of shared inquiry. His installations invite viewers to move, listen and look differently—suspended floors vibrate with sound, delicate webs translate movement into music, and architectural forms propose futures untethered from fossil fuels.
At once poetic and political, Saraceno’s practice reframes art as a tool for rethinking how we coexist with one another and with non-human life. By foregrounding systems of connection—fragile, complex and resilient—he transforms the exhibition space into a testing ground for ecological imagination and planetary care.
