Nika Neelova, an accomplished sculptor, lives and works in London. She holds a Master’s Degree from the Slade School of Art and a BA from the Royal Art Academy, KABK. Her work has been widely exhibited in the UK and internationally, including recent solo exhibitions such as “Very Like a Whale” at the Santorini Museum, Greece (2023), “Thaw” at Noire Gallery, Turin (2023), and “One of Many Fragments” at the New Art Centre, Roche Court (2021).
Neelova’s selected group exhibitions feature “(Everything) is not what it seems” at the Piran Coastal Galleries Museum (2023) and NITJA Museum, Oslo (2022), “From Birth to Earth” at Parafin, London (2023), and “Her Dark Materials” curated by Philly Adams (2021). Her notable shows also include the “Art Newspaper 40th Anniversary Project” (2021) and “She Sees the Shadows” at DRAF & Mostyn Museum, Wales (2018).
Neelova has received several prestigious awards, including the Kenneth Armitage Young Sculptor Prize, the Land Security Prize Award, the Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Award, and the Saatchi New Sensations award. In 2017, she participated in an alternative study program at the Wysing Art Centre in Cambridge and was awarded the Arts Council National Lottery Grant in 2019 to support her practice.
Known for her large-scale sculptures and installations, Neelova creates complex, imaginary environments that evoke timeless landscapes. Her work is included in numerous public and private collections globally, solidifying her presence in the contemporary art world.
