Hello FAD readers. It’s that time of year again when aesthetically and luxury-minded people come from all over the world to a gorgeous and warm place in December. You may recall that Art Basel Miami Beach was abuzz with what turned out to be a bubble of crypto and NFT madness last year. This year crypto is down, the dust is settling on NFTs making it clearer which ones are actually historical NFTs, and the forecast for Miami this week is warm and sunny.
This year instead of just telling you about all the fun after I’ve had it, we’ve decided to publish a guide to Miami to help you prepare and make the most fun out of the madness. Crypto Whales are people that hold a significant amount of cryptocurrency. They are the obsession of NFT creators as people follow what they buy and when. It’s time to meet Crypto Mermaids

Crypto Mermaid FAQ for Art Basel Miami Beach 2022
What is the connection between crypto and the Art Basel Miami Beach Art Fair?
Crypto has made its way into the art world via the popularization of NFTs to collect artworks. NFTs (short for non-fungible token) are unique assets that can be created, tracked and exchanged on the blockchain. Since 2017, the amount of NFT artworks has increased exponentially. In 2021 they made their first appearance at the Art Basel Miami Beach Art Fair at the Tezos and Nagel Draxler booths. This year, NFTs and crypto art at large will be present again. I hear about a lot of fraud in crypto, why is that and how do I avoid it?
We believe that one of the main causes of fraud in crypto is a lack of in-depth understanding of the risks associated with different components of this new technology. Knowledge is the best protection and that’s why we are here. Crypto currencies are also increasingly receiving crypto ratings from AI powered firms like Evai. How do I set up a crypto wallet before Art Basel Miami Beach?
Before buying crypto currency you will need to create a crypto wallet. For example, to hold your tez (XTZ) before buying NFTs at Art Basel you’ll need a Tezos wallet. A wallet lets you manage your digital assets and seamlessly connect with experiences and apps on Tezos. We recommend Kukai.

2. Sign in with your existing Google, Twitter, or Facebook account
You now have a crypto wallet! It may be less glamorous than the water resistant Coach wallet we also recommend, but is much more secure. And because it is entirely non physical it will match anything you wear and you don’t need to worry about leaving it on the beach while you jump into the ocean.

4. MoonPay is like most online shopping. It will require you to verify your email address for security. You can then buy your crypto with a credit card or bank account
Sunglasses & SPF – Let’s talk about Exposure, consider starting with the minimum of $30
In finance, exposure refers to the amount of money invested in a particular asset. It represents the amount that an investor could lose on an investment.
