The first screening of Jani Ruscica’s new film, Travelogue, researched and shot on location at Camden Arts Centre for Ruscica’s Magic Lantern residency. Drawing on both contemporary and historical texts, Ruscica’s film deconstructs the idea of the travelogue itself as romanticised history, factual document and idealised experience
Ruscica’s main area of interest lies in examining how one defines one’s location, a sense of place in the world, and how and why that definition can change. Working collaboratively is a key part of this process, and to date Ruscica has worked with groups and individuals including theatre makers, beat boxers, dancers and scientists.
Following the screening the film will be available to view at Animate Projects
Travelogue is supported by FRAME and the Finnish Institute in London and Animate Projects.
