Live from March 24th to March 27th, and featuring 100 galleries from 25 countries and territories, ‘OVR: Pioneers’ will be dedicated to artists who have broken new grounds for example aesthetically, conceptually, or socio-politically. Participating galleries will present tightly curated solo or group exhibitions, showing up to eight works simultaneously.
The December edition of Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms previews tomorrow December 2nd and will feature an international lineup of 255 leading galleries from 30 countries and territories across North and South America, as well as Europe, Asia, and Africa
If the first round of ‘lockdown art online’ was characterised by the sheer volume of material, from galleries and fairs alike, the second UK lockdown coincides with attempts to enhance the focus. That was visible in two recent fairs: Art Basel and TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair, here in its New York edition but online). ‘OVR:20c’, Art Basel’s Online Viewing Rooms.
Art Basel Online Viewing Rooms opens to the public tomorrow Friday 18th and runs until June 26th. Thousands of artworks are available to view from 282 galleries. So obviously 10 artworks cant really give you any kind of overview so we have just chosen the ones that caught our eye with the only proviso being that they havent sold already.
