Jac Leirner (b. 1961, São Paulo, Brazil) transforms everyday circulation—tickets, banknotes, shopping bags, airline paraphernalia—into precise, conceptual sculpture. Her works gather objects worn by touch and time, arranging them into strings, grids and accumulations that reveal the systems shaping contemporary life: consumption, travel, economy, desire.
Both methodical and materially intimate, Leirner’s practice treats found ephemera as a language of movement and exchange. By elevating the overlooked, she exposes the quiet choreography of value and waste, turning the residue of modern experience into forms that are at once humorous, elegant and critically sharp
