Miles McEnery Gallery has announced the opening of a new gallery at 525 West 22nd Street next month. The new location will be the gallery’s fourth space in Chelsea, New York, providing an additional 7,000 square feet, bringing the gallery’s footprint to 26,000 square feet, across 22nd and 21st Streets. The expansion will allow the gallery to increase its ambitious programming and support its roster of artists. The additional space is opening just one year after launching the third gallery location. The inaugural exhibition, We Contain Multitudes, will be a two-person show by Alex Dodge and Tom LaDuke, opening April 28th and on view through June 4th, 2022. Concurrently, the gallery will open exhibitions by Patrick Wilson at 515 West 22nd, Michael Reafsynder at 511 West 22nd, and Annie Lapin at 520 West 21st all opening on April 28.
Alissa Schoenfeld is joining the gallery as Senior Director beginning in April and will be based out of the new space. Possessing over thirty years of art gallery experience, Schoenfeld was most recently Director at Yossi Milo, where she worked since 2005. She also held positions at Pace/MacGill Gallery and was the first director of A.I.R. Gallery. She holds an MA in Art History, Criticism and Theory from SUNY Stony Brook and is on the advisory board of the Penumbra Foundation. Additionally, current Director of Sales Lucasta Partridge-Hicks, who has been at the gallery since 2018, will become Senior Director.
