The irreverent, unforgettable Art Car Boot Fair is back for 2025, turning to comedy for its latest edition with cutting-edge contemporary art, cheeky humour and live comic performance. The Art Car Boot Fair presents Comedy & the Comic!
The Art Car Boot Fair is where high art meets the high street, with internationally beloved artists selling directly from the boots of their cars. It’s a riotous mix of art, performance, and playful encounters, served up with a sense of humour and a healthy dose of anarchy. Past editions have seen the likes of Tracey Emin and Sir Peter Blake pitching up to sell directly to the public.
British comedy legend Vic Reeves, whose art has been shown at Saatchi Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery and been cited as an influence by Damien Hirst, will be bringing his art to the Art Car Boot Fair 2025.
With an Instagram following of over 3 million and recently the subject of a recent Channel 4 documentary, Mr Doodle has gone from a struggling artist selling work for £1 to international sensation selling his art for millions. This year, making his Art Car Boot Fair debut, Mr Doodle will be pitching up in an American school bus completely covered in doodles for a live drawing performance and launching signed copies of his new double picture disc vinyl record which comes with a 50-page book of related artwork.

Other artists appearing in-person include Pam Hogg, the legendary Scottish fashion designer who has created clothes for Debbie Harry, Siouxsie Sioux, Bjork, Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Lady Gaga in her one-of-a-kind five-decade career.
Dion Kitson comes to the 2025 fair fresh from a five-star review from The Guardian for his Rue Britannia exhibition and a viral London Fashion Week jewellery collaboration that transformed Gregg’s most-famous menu items into 22-carat gold-plate pieces. Comedian Joe Lycett says, “Dion Kitson understands the state of the nation better than anyone and why it is the way it is: funny, and beautiful, and dumb.” Dion is bringing Lycett’s other favourites, subversive street artist Foka Wolf, plus artist and comedian Tat Vision.

Picked as a “young artist to watch” by Vogue, 17-year-old art sensation Camille Phoenix has been showing at the Art Car Boot Fair since she was six, making art swaps at the Fair with the likes of Tracey Emin and Sir Peter Blake.
Internationally renowned photographer Rankin has photographed everyone from Kate Moss to David Bowie and Queen Elizabeth II. At the Art Car Boot Fair 2025 Rankin brings his RankinLIVE project giving visitors the chance to have their portrait taken by him too.

Cult cartoon swear-masters Modern Toss combine satirical, irreverent humour with a distinctive minimalist bold graphic style. Their work often revolves around humorous and slightly offensive takes on everyday situations, work life, and popular culture. Fresh from celebrating their 20th anniversary, they join the line-up for the first time.
Jealous Gallery, Heath Kane, Sara Pope, British Journal of Photography International Photography Award winner Juno Calypso, Susie Hamilton, Russell Herron are just some of the other over 120 artists visitors can expect at the 2025 Fair.

Obsessed Art will bring a Kids Drawing Club led by Preston Paperboy. The Misfortune Teller will be on hand with his very own brand of personalised dark prophecies, plus #RenaissanceSelfie is back with the makeover of a lifetime, using everyday objects from pillowcases, fruit and paper napkins to create fabulous Renaissance style portraits. Visitors can also expect a gaggle of female clowns roaming the Fair and a comedy open mic, plus plenty of food, drink, music and revelry.
The Art Car Boot Fair is a vibrant cross between an art fair and a car boot sale – a quintessentially British afternoon of art buying, mingling and entertainment. With Turner Prize winners pitching next to rising stars, fine artists next to street artists and everything in between, the art is exclusively commissioned for the event and presented at fabulously reduced, just for-the-day prices by the artist in person.
Karen Ashton, Founder of the Art Car Boot Fair says
“This year’s theme ‘Art, Comedy & the Comic’ is all about celebrating the lighter side of creativity. In uncertain times humour is a powerful tool – and artists are the best jesters, critics, and storytellers around. Expect the unexpected!”
The Art Car Boot Fair is art at its most alive. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a curious newcomer, the Art Car Boot Fair offers an unmissable opportunity to meet artists face-to-face, haggle for a masterpiece, and walk away with a smile – and something rare under your arm.
