CLEARING celebrate 15 years with Maison CLEARING in Basel

From June 16th 2025, CLEARING will transform a charming and conveniently located villa in Basel into Maison CLEARING — a sprawling group exhibition celebrating the gallery’s ethos of playful curiosity ahead of its 15th Anniversary.

Curated by Olamiju Fajemisin, Maison CLEARING will feature an unexpected selection of works by an
international and intergenerational roster of artists. The installation will cover all four levels of a once-grand family home, spilling onto a south-facing garden where dinners and public talks will take place. Within the greater context of the group exhibition, the distinct characteristics of each room offers an alternative to the “white cube” format.

By embracing a salon-style atmosphere—including nightly, limited-seating screenings in the woodpanneled attic—Maison CLEARING will provide a reimagined experience of the fagship artweek.

Exhibiting artists include: Gabrielé Adomaityté, Jean-Marie Appriou, Sarah Benslimane, Sebastian Black, Clémentine Bruno, Nicole Coson, Henry Curchod, Violet Dennison, Gritli Faulhaber, Pe Ferreira, Sara Flores, Ryan Foerster, Lloyd Foster, Jasmine Gregory, Xingzi Gu, Samuel Haitz, Oji Haynes, Amanda van Hesteren, Louis Jacquot, Nino Kapanadze, Tobias Kaspar, Tomasz Kowalski, Kristian Kragelund, Zak Kitnick, Anne Libby, Andrew Luk, Mickael Marman, Gus Monday, Julien Monnerie, Shota Nakamura, Shinoh Nam, Jean Nipon, Armando Nin, Kayode Ojo, Marina Pinsky, Raffaela Naldi Rossano, Loïc Raguénès, Rita Siegfried, Larry Stanton, Marius Steiger, Unyimeabasi Udoh, Supawich Weesapen, Elzie Williams III, and Robert Zehnder.

In Liz Craft and Zoe Barcza’s work, warped faces and flattened children occupy an absurd, kaleidoscopic cityscape. The built environment and its subjects entwine to form conjoined beings, ones that are grotesque, comedic, and confrontational.
