People always ask us what FAD is about? What’s its focus? Well, it’s hard to put a finger on it but the first two posts on this list probably sum it up best, a story about the newest most exciting contemporary artists showcased by one of the world biggest and most important galleries and 10 artworks from one of the oldest Antiques & Fine Arts Fairs BRAFA (founded in 1956).

Oh & some Hollywood glamour from Tim Burton and Sharon Stone.

1. ‘Present Tense’ spotlights the next generation of artists living & working in the UK.

Hauser & Wirth showcased 23 up & coming contemporary artists from outside of their roster in January including George Rouy who they ended up representing & exhibiting later in the year. Click through to see ther other 22 artists represented.

2. Paul’s Fairs: Out of the Usual at BRAFA 2024

Paul Carey-Kent took a break from galleries to pick ten artworks from The Brussels Antiques & Fine Arts Fair – BRAFA.  Founded it 1956 this year’s 132-exhibitor fair is a typical mixture of antique, tribal, classic, modern and contemporary art and design.

3. Tim Burton exhibition drives biggest advance ticket sales in Design Museum’s history

Announced in October this year the Design Museum’s major exhibition was on the exceptional career of director Tim Burton and it smashed the museum’s record for advance ticket sales.

5. Tavares Strachan’s monumental sculpture unveiled in Royal Academy Courtyard.

8. ‘Totem’, Sharon Stone’s Inaugural Solo Exhibition in Europe opens at Galerie Deschler in Berlin as she is honoured at Cinema for Peace 2024.

A great story from Lee Sharrock, art and Hollywood glamour. Opening her first exhibition in Europe at Galerie Deschler in Berlin. ‘Sharon Stone: Totem’. the actress /artist was also honoured at the Cinema For Peace.
