The Print Peace Project from Rounded Dot sees leading artists lend their creativity to the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

In the run-up to the festive season, as thoughts turn to peace and goodwill to others, Rounded Dot, a new, not-for-profit social enterprise, is pleased to announce the Print Peace Project. A group of ten acclaimed and exciting artists have responded to a brief to create a celebratory artwork based on the iconic peace symbol.

The results will be sold as prints to raise funds for CND available to buy online from roundeddot.com for a limited period from 13th November until 12th December.

The works, ranging from geometric and witty to hand-drawn and introspective, come from a stellar line-up of creators: Anthony Burrill, Billie J, Christian Watson, James Joyce, Morag Myerscough, Rebecca Sutherland, Rude, Sarah Boris, Studio Sutherl& and Supermundane.

The CND symbol was designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom, based on the semaphore signs for ‘N’ and ‘D’, standing for nuclear disarmament. Although specifically designed for the anti-nuclear movement, it has deliberately never been copyrighted and is free for all to use. It has become the shorthand symbol for peace and hope.

CND is Britain’s leading organisation for peace and anti-nuclear action. Formed in 1958 with the now iconic and internationally recognised peace symbol, they are a community of tens of thousands of activists sharing a common vision for a world without war. Over 65 years later that mission remains as relevant as geopolitical tensions amplify the ongoing threat of nuclear warfare.

Design consultancy Rounded recently worked with CND to develop their brand identity for a new era. Rounded Dot was set up as a not-for-profit social enterprise that works with artists to raise funds for causes they care about. It’s a collaboration between Paul Tunnicliffe of Rounded and Simon Davis of DOT DOT DOT,a network of CEO’s and decision-makers who provide free strategic advice to charities.

Paul Tunnicliffe, co-founder of Rounded Dot said,

As well as raising funds for CND we want to celebrate peace and relink the peace symbol back to CND and its true meaning – Nuclear Disarmament
