Hyundai Motor Company and Rhizome of the New Museum have partnered to support innovative digital art endeavours and exhibitions through to 2022. The debut exhibition, World on a Wire, has just opened on  worldonawire.net, as well as the Hyundai Motorstudio in Beijing.

World on a Wire explores artistic practices engaged with emergent born-digital technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI).

The exhibition presents what could be considered artist-made synthetic life forms and explores the possibilities and poetics of computational simulation. It showcases the works of 11 global artists including Dungeon: Maximalism HyperBody (2021) by a London- and Beijing-based Pete Jiadong Qiang who created a vivid mixed-reality architecture, comprising a physical space and virtual environments experienced through a VR headset.
