1-2-3-4 records present 1-2-3-4 ACTION downstairs at the Ace Hotel, 100 Shoreditch High Street E1,

For over a decade now the numbers 1-2-3-4 have been synonymous with East London Rock and Roll. Be it their work as club promoters, their 10,000 capacity music festival or their innovative record label, 1-2-3-4 has always been driven by an addiction to forward thinking music.

After an absence of 5 years, and inspired by an abundant new crop of bands, 1-2-3-4 have gone full circle and are restarting the label which made their name. The label is once again headed up by the pioneering Sean Mclusky, a man who has remained at the vanguard of new music for a lifetime. Always on the crest of wave after wave of new scenes, Sean’s uncompromising ethos and vision will drive 1-2-3-4 as it always has done. and steadfast dedication to keeping the underground underground.

It was around the turn of the last century when Mclusky had defined what ‘future rock and roll’ was with his Sonic Mook Experiment compilation and four day music festival at the ICA of the same name. From this scene-defining activity he gathered a raft new bands from the fledgling East London music scene and started releasing records supported by some of the best warehouse parties east London had ever seen.

Leaving the label dormant for a while, Sean McLusky went on to set up the 1-2-3-4 Festival in Shoreditch in 2006, an annual festival of filthy Rock and Roll. Bringing together the most exciting contemporary bands from east London with those linked to the scene from further afield, the festival soon established a unique reputation for it’s cutting-edge ethos. It was the 1-2-3-4’s unwillingness to commercialise and book the same bands as other festivals that has helped it carve it’s own special niche; acting as a launch pad for bands like Savages, Factory Floor, The Warlocks, A Place To Bury Strangers, Crocodiles, Swim Deep, Iceage, Deep Valley, Eagulls, Ecco Lake, S.C.U.M, Bo Ningen, Veronica Falls, The Proper Ornaments, Trailer Trash Tracies, Mazes, Dum Dum Girls, Wavves, Dirty Beaches, Crystal Fighters, Light Speed Champion AND Florence & The Machine.

With album releases lined up from ARROWS OF LOVE and BAD FOR LAZARUS, and festivals planned this year in London and Buenos Aires, 2014 looks set to mark an exciting new chapter for 1-2-3-4.….
