FAD’s Creative Director Mark Westall teamed up with Sony to do Six Art Fairs on the Sunday off Frieze art Week .
He got given the awesome looking QX10 Lens camera (there’s also a QX100 ! ) and the new beautifully flat Xperia Z1.
The idea is you connect the two (v easy all you have to do on the phone is download the app connect via wifi or NFC) and away you go and he did.
Mark started out in Regents park visiting Frieze Masters then Frieze before heading onto Sunday Art fair , The Other Art Fair and Moniker in Shoreditch before ending up at SLUICE in London Bridge.
During Frieze Masters Mark found out the FAD way to use the QX10 which is to shoot the ‘OldsKool’ way with phone in pocket and just shooting . It was amazing to see how and what we shot without looking at the viewfinder it gave us more freedom and was lots of FUN. It also enabled us to view the artwork directly and not via a digital barrier. The other cool thing was that you could use the phone as a ‘handy remote’ – to capture high angle shots.

Then we walked over to Frieze London a 15min walk through Regents Park via some of the sculptures in the Frieze scuplture park.
