Andy Warhol “15 Minutes Eternal” Retrospective Asia Tour

After a year of planning, the largest bank in Pittsburgh – BNY Mellon – announced that it would be sponsoring a huge two-year traveling retrospective of over 300 Andy Warhol works in Asia, curated by the Andy Warhol Museum.

Set to appear in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo between March 2012 and 2014, “15 Minutes Eternal” is a play on the vaunted artist’s assertion that “in the future, everyone will be world-famous for fifteen minutes.” The canvases headed overseas are almost entirely made up of inventory from the Warhol Museum, save for two works on long-term loan to the museum that belong to private collectors from the United States. Despite the fact that there is an auction house on board, the show is nominally educational rather than commercial.Via:[Hypebeast]
