An exhibition of work by SERGE SEIDLITZ 24th October – 4th November 2011

Award winning illustrator, Serge Seidlitz’s has an exhibition called Serge V’s Spaceship Earth.
The collection features a range of hand-woven rugs, produced Fair Trade in collaboration with Kumbeshwar Technical School in Kathmandu.

Serge has also designed the upholstery fabric for a one-off chair, exclusive to this exhibition, as well as a series limited edition screen and digital prints, including Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky poem, Serge’s own version of Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window and Circus and Jungle, which are reminiscent of Where’s Wally?

Celebrated for creating crazy cartoon worlds fuelled by his childhood diet of MTV and Mad, Serge fuses intricate hand drawings with graphic systems and digital technology. An English/ German hybrid, born in Kenya in 1977, Serge grew up travelling between the UK and Asia. This eclectic foundation is reflected in his art.

Combining elements of popular culture with these diverse influences, Serge has created a body of work which relates back to an iconic graphic language of the 80s and 90s, but also explores innovative and original ideas through maps, information graphics, character design and much more.
