On Monday 4th October, the Aubin Gallery on East London’s infamous Redchurch Street, played host to a comic fundraiser of belly chuckling, rib tickling proportions. The art on sale was a combination of works from high profile artists, comedians, activists, musicians and well loved personalities from TV & radio who all came to together in support of feminism in London.
Those on board included such impressive names as Jo Brand, Julian Opie, Kate Nash, The Girls, Marina and the Diamonds and Susie Orbach. The brief was to design a postcard based on the theme of ‘Feminism’ and the works were then auctioned at the Aubin Gallery exhibition.
Auctioneers Jessica Stevenson and Radio 4 comedian Miriam Elia did a stand up job with wooden hammer making for a hilarious night!
