Ctrl.Alt.Shift presents Dear Diary Through to Sunday 23 May, 2010 Gallery Seven

The Exhibition, The Cringe Live Diary Event and Limited Edition Journal
Exploring the intimate act of keeping a diary, experimental youth initiative, Ctrl.Alt.Shift brings us Ctrl.Alt.Shift presents Dear Diary; a project which will take people on an inspirational and reflective journey, exploring and sharing the experiences of young people across the globe. An exhibition at Gallery Seven, Covent Garden, London will kick-start the project, followed by a live VIP event, in association with the international cult diary performance night ‘Cringe’ followed by the release of a beautifully produced limited edition diary that can be used to record those all important youthful epiphanies.

From the trivia of ‘does my bum look big in this?’ or ‘what does this boy think of me?’ to parental conflicts and sibling rivalries as well as the more serious issues of politics and poverty that face teenagers today, Ctrl.Alt.Shift presents Dear Diary examines being a teenager, in addition to the wider social and political contexts of diary keeping. A number of the diaries included in Ctrl.Alt.Shift presents Dear Diary help to draw attention to the lives of young people coping with extreme experiences throughout the world including those growing up in the slums of Kenya.
