The transformation into a museum occurred in 1931, preserving the rich history of the site.
One of the museum’s highlights is the Bremer Car, a groundbreaking piece of automotive history. Built by Frederick Bremer (1872–1941) in a workshop behind his family home on Connaught Road, Walthamstow, this historic vehicle marks the first British motor car with an internal combustion engine. Step back in time and witness the marvel of the car, which made its debut in 1892. Generously donated to the museum by Bremer in 1933, the Bremer Car is a permanent display, allowing visitors to appreciate a key piece of British motoring heritage.
