opening its new space with Privacy Index, a group exhibition exploring the shifting nature of surveillance and visibility in contemporary life
Ruby Chen is a contemporary artist working across painting, sculpture and installation. Her work explores identity, material transformation and the relationship between the body and space. Ruby Chen often combines organic and industrial materials, creating sculptural forms and surfaces that emphasise texture, balance and physical presence.
Chen’s practice frequently focuses on how materials carry emotional and symbolic meaning. Through processes such as layering, carving and assembling, she produces works that shift between abstraction and figuration. The resulting forms often suggest fragments of the body or natural structures, positioning Ruby Chen’s work within wider conversations around contemporary sculpture and material experimentation.
Ruby Chen has exhibited in gallery and project spaces internationally. Her interdisciplinary practice contributes to contemporary art through its focus on material process, spatial awareness and the interaction between objects and viewers.
