Chloe Wise, born in 1990, stands out as a prominent Canadian artist now based in New York City. Specializing in sculpture, drawing, video art, and oil painting, Wise has made a name for herself with a distinctive and humorous approach to both still life and figurative painting. Her work often features intimate depictions of food trends, agriculture, consumer culture, as well as her friends and muses.
An intriguing moment in Wise’s career unfolded in 2014 when actor Bobbi Menuez made waves at a Chanel launch event. Menuez was adorned in Wise’s sculpture, “Bagel No. 5,” a remarkably realistic depiction of a bagel with cream cheese, complemented by a Chanel purse chain and charm. Initially mistaken for a genuine Chanel design, the sculpture surprised many when it was revealed to be part of Wise’s collection.
Chloe Wise’s unique blend of stylized art and humor has garnered attention, making her a notable figure in the contemporary art scene. Her diverse portfolio showcases a keen observation of everyday elements, merging them with a playful touch that captivates audiences worldwide. Stay tuned for more from this innovative artist as she continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression.
