Tate Modern will exhibit an interactive Robert Morris sculpture not shown by them since 1971, The Telegraph reports. In an exhibition that may have Health and Safety officers sweating under their collars, the gallery’s visitors will be permitted to climb, crawl and slide all over the sculpture, entitled Bodyspacemotionthings. When shown in 1971, the enthusiasm of the audience apparently resulted in girls having to have splinters removed from their bottoms after sliding down the wooden artwork. Kathy Noble, the exhibitions curator, has said reassuringly that this time, they will use a “higher-grade ply” to protect against a recurrence of this problem. The work will be shown in the Turbine Hall from May 22 to 25 as part of its UBS-sponsored event, The Long Weekend.
