Chris Moon returns with new solo exhibition A Day In A Life.

Cramer St Gallery and CMJZ ARTS present a new solo exhibition of British self-taught zeitgeist artist, Chris Moon.

Opening this week this raw and deeply moving instalment lays bare painter Chris Moon’s experience of retreating from public life, and from the confines of himself.

Draped in a characteristic dreamlike melancholy, this body of work explores a day in the life of Moon in an immersive pastel-postcard hue after he absconds to Devon from London to refocus his painting practice in 2024. A self-induced exile set upon a rugged West Country cliff, intimate vignettes of daily life capture the emotion and memory of living secludedly in a coastal mansion, embodying broken reverie and renewal.

In his unadulterated and meditative self-reflection, viewers are invited to let permeate their own thoughts and sensations into the amorphous forms of Moon’s techniques of abstraction. Moon invites the viewer to see what he sees.

The way he sees it.

About the artist

From his East London studio, Chris Moon renders pensive emotional states of transcendence with self-taught grace. Moon’s first London solo exhibitions, independently created, received wide acclaim in 2011 and 2013 Home (2011) and Reverie (2013). Global installations followed in New York (2013), Los Angeles (2015), and again in London (2016), with many pieces entering private collections. Moon’s paintings have been featured in Interview Magazine, Flaunt in the USA, Dazed, Another, and Port Magazine in the UK, amongst others. In 2018 he was the subject of a documentary feature film directed by Jack Bond called ‘An Artist’s Eyes’. His last solo exhibition was in London in 2020, before making the reflective visual diary that is now the subject of this intoxicating comeback show.
