*Update: ‘The opening of Waddington Custot’s new gallery has been rescheduled to early 2026, allowing construction to be completed to the highest specification’
Waddington Custot has announced the opening of its new Parisian space at 36 rue de Seine, in the historic location previously occupied by the renowned Lansberg Gallery in the 6th arrondissement of Paris.
The gallery will open its doors in October 2025, in anticipation of the next edition of Art Basel Paris. This Parisian presence reflects Waddington Custot’s renewed ambition to be as close as possible to international collectors and major cultural institutions, strengthening its strategic position at the heart of the European art market. The Parisian gallery will be managed by Isaure de Roquefeuil, an experienced associate who has worked for nearly a decade at Waddington Custot, and Antoine Clavé, a Parisian gallerist and grandson of renowned artist Antoni Clavé. Together, they will form a partnership with an in depth knowledge of the Parisian market.
For its inauguration, the gallery will present an exhibition dedicated to the Nabis painters, a major movement in the history of modern art known for its vibrant colors and bold compositions, of which Waddington Custot is a leading specialist. This first exhibition will be followed by a group show of contemporary and modern artists, reflecting Waddington Custot’s commitment to presenting rich and varied dialogues between historical masters and contemporary talents. The new 200-square-meter space, located in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, offers generous natural light and is set within an area known for its strong artistic and cultural identity.
Waddington Custot Paris aims to be a place for conversation, exchange, and discovery within the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
