Carpenters Workshop Gallery is participating in the inaugural Design Miami/ Los Angeles which has just opened today Thursday, May 16th.
The gallery’s presentation is centered around a curated selection of work by innovative artists, each piece telling a story of rebirth and reinvention through the exploration of concepts of upcycling, materiality and renewal.
Such as Nacho Carbonell’s mesmerizing Cocoon Series, Vincenzo De Cotiis’ striking use of recycled fiberglass, and Martin Laforêt’s daring exploration of concrete a journey through creativity and conscious problem-solving.
A standout highlight is Carbonell’s Custom Trono(2023), alight sculpture that epitomizes the thematic approach of the curation. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Carbonell’s artwork reflects his unique approach to viewing objects as living organisms, inviting viewers to engage with texture, technique, and natural materials. Alongside Carbonell’s masterpiece, Atelier Van Lieshout’s New Family Lamp(2020), offers a modern perspective on personal relationships through humanoid forms crafted from Corten steel.
The booth also features Wonmin Park’s Plain Cuts Stone #4(2021), a striking fusion of natural elements and industrial materials, symbolizing humanity’s impact on the environment. Additionally, a collection of seating incorporating naturalmaterials will take center stage, including Frederik Molenschot’s Bridge Chair Oak(2023) and Gerrit Rietveld’s iconic Crate Chair(1950), illustrating a blend of artistry and functionality.
