The curator-driven fair will return to its venue at 5880 Adams Blvd in Culver City with over 60 immersive and cross-disciplinary exhibitions that respond to the 2024 theme ‘INT. / EXT.’ (interior/exterior).

A play both on the spatial context of art exhibition and subject matter, ‘INT. / EXT.‘ invites curators to consider all things architectural, spacial, natural, landscape, still life, and en plein air, with a nod towards works also that transcend the tactile to include Dream, incorporating, from outer to inner, the surrealist and spiritualist amidst trappings of the outside world.

Additionally, LA curator and writer Michael Slenske will stage ‘The Street and The Shop’, an activation presenting works that blend art and design including ceramic works by Max Roeg, S/BLA 2023 standout Emily Marchand, and ‘Unlikely Florist’ Spencer Falls.

The fair will also show a new ‘Artist Spotlight’ section, an initiative launched in NYC in September where artists can submit directly for a position within a salon show curated by fair-founders Ambre Kelly & Andrew Gori. For Los Angeles, the pair hand-selected 50+ projects from emerging artists including Cate Pasquerelli, Kay Seohyung Lee, Nathaniel Meyer.

SPRING/BREAK LA’s 2024 home for the past three years is located in the Arts District of Culver City. The expansive, 30,000 square foot warehouse was originally built in 1940 and served as a factory site. SPRING/BREAK is excited to continue its partnership with visionary developer Redcar to source historic, underused, and exhibition-atypical locales articulating Los Angeles history in order to feature groundbreaking exhibitions from both coasts.

SPRING/BREAK Art Show, February 27th – March 3rd, 2024, 5880 Adams Blvd, springbreakartshow.com

SPRING/BREAK Art Show, New York City and Los Angeles’ curator-driven art fair, resumes its mission to offer free exhibition space in order to foster exploratory exhibitions in atypical art environments. By keeping overhead costs for independent curators low, their focus can be on emerging and mid-career artists, as well as installation, performance, interactive and video work.
