The artworks presented at White Cube Paris, whose dates range from 1929 to the present day, are born of Lamy’s visceral response to specific works that agitate preconceptions of the body and its representation.

Revitalising this age-old preoccupation, ‘Sweet Lust’ celebrates a poetics of the body – from the material flesh of corporeality, to its desires, drives and impulses – and the amorphous ways it has found expression in art.

‘When the gallery asked me to curate a show at White Cube Paris salon I was exhilarated and also thought, fuck – both nervous and anguished. How to dare… At the same time, it felt pretty safe… A big gallery with great artists, and with friends. At this time I saw immense and great exhibitions, including those of Anne Imhof and Robert Mapplethorpe. The body is beautiful and we are happy to present a story of our time, one that proposes a new stage of opportunity and strength. I hope that my Deleuzian assemblage, like a code of conduct, will allow you to desire the show as an ensemble, even if it’s in their singularities that I adore each and every one of the artists. Sweet Lust everybody!’
