ARTIST OPPORTUNITY: The Griffin Gallery Open 12k in prizes
Launched this year the Griffin Gallery Open is a new initiative to encourage all artists in painting and drawing. It aims to reward innovation, skill and commitment to practice. Around 80 works will be selected for exhibition at Griffin Gallery, currently three major prizes with a total value £12,000 are on offer and more will be announced in the run-up to the exhibition.
Winsor & Newton painting prize- £1,000 plus £3,000 in art materials.
Liquitex acrylic painting prize- £1,000 plus £3,000 in art materials.
Conté à Paris drawing prize- £1,000 plus £3,000 in art materials.

Pocket Living & Hive Curates will be commissioning two art murals at 458 Forest Road
Three grants of £10,000 will be awarded as part of a brand new open call for UK-based artists and activists launched today by Greenpeace UK.
Bad Taste is a project that sits at the intersection of art and activism to foster imaginative strategies that create change. It marks the first time Greenpeace UK has fully opened its action design process to external collaborators.
‘Carry-on Baggage’ is a cheeky showcase of contemporary British artists in Lisbon, in a mini and easily transportable form – A fun and simple concept. Artists are invited to participate individually or as a group. The invited artist(s) need to book a return flight to Lisbon and pack a small piece of artwork into their carry-on baggage (wheelie cabin bag).
Applications are now open for a new research residency programme developed in a new collaboration between Two Temple Place and curators Eric Thorp and Nicholas Stavri (Thorp Stavri).
