Street art contest launched for Childish Gambino’s upcoming London’s 02 Brixton Academy show

Talenthouse, the social network for creative collaborations, in conjunction with Glassnote and Island Records, is calling out to artists, illustrators, graffiti artists and designers as they’re looking for a piece of street art to be created across London to support rapper Childish Gambino’s headline tour show, The Deep Web, at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Tuesday 19th August, 2014.

Talenthouse, in conjunction with Glassnote and Island Records, is looking for a bold, eye-catching, single colour stencil design that can be quickly and easily replicated in public places.

Childish Gambino’s face and the track name ‘3005’ should be included in the design and reflect his second studio album because the internet using inspiration from artists such as Banksy and Andy Warhol. The design must be bold, creative, iconic and eye-catching – and easy to spray-paint or transfer onto other surfaces including perspex and concrete.

The judging panel is Lee Bofkin, CEO of Global Street Art & Vincent Reinders, Founder & Creative Director of 22 Tracks.

The winning design will receive $1200, see their work incorporated into the street art campaign across London, have their work promoted across, Glassnote & Island Records online channels, receive valuable exposure for their work, receive limited edition Childish Gambino merchandise (bootleg album, t-shirt, hoodie and posters) and 2 x guest tickets to the Brixton show on 19 August (travel and accommodation not provided). The winning design may even be used on merchandise further down the line.

Entries should be submitted by August 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Voting will commence on August 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM and end on August 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM. The winner will be announced on August 11, 2014. All times are in Pacific Daylight Time.
