DegreeArt.com and Verve properties present the Verve Open 2014: Sculpture Competition.
This is a rare opportunity for three artists to exhibit their work within the historic, and iconic, Loud & Western building in Fulham (which was the former Sunlight Laundry).
Overview
Dynamic and innovative applications from sculptors wanted, with artwork proposals for installations that will connect the vast spaces within this development, as well as offer a new perspective on the building.
Applications are sought that will create interest and talking points throughout the 7000sqf. Artists will be able to hang and suspend works as well as using the floor space to display work.
Rules
The competition is open to UK based artists, currently studying (or who have graduated within the last 15 years)
Artworks need to have at least one size measuring over 1.5m
Each entry can contain between 1 and 10 artworks but all must relate to a specific series or installation
Works must be available for the exhibition 6th – 29th June 2014.
Artists must be available to install their works on: 1st-2nd June 2014
Judges
The industry judging panel includes: Tim Pain, Verve Properties, Natalie Cencelli, Fornacelli Interiors, Carol Peace, Sculptor, Christopher Holder, Art Collector and Rodney Baldwin, Owner of Green and Stone.
Prizes
Each winner will receive:
A Cash Prize
Inclusion in the Exhibition – Friday 6th June – Sunday 29th June
Invitations to Attend the Private View – Thursday 5th June 6-9pm
There may be an additional residency opportunity for the winner, subject to the sponsors discretion.
