GQ will partner with the Serpentine Gallery at this year’s Men of the Year Awards to present a new honour, the GQ Artist of the Year, it was announced today by Dylan Jones, the Editor of British GQ, Julia Peyton-Jones, Director, and Hans Ulrich-Obrist, Co-Director, Serpentine Gallery. The award will be curated by the Serpentine, and is designed to celebrate the very best in artistic endeavour.
“We’re delighted to collaborate with The Serpentine Gallery on this Award, the first of a number of projects with London’s most revered contemporary art gallery. Editorially, the art scene has long been a vital component of the GQ DNA, and as evidence of our commitment to honour talent, we’re looking forward to celebrating artistic excellence as this year’s ceremony,” commented Dylan Jones.
Julia Peyton-Jones, Director, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director, Serpentine Gallery, remarked, “Artists are among the most important people in the world today so it is wonderful to see them honoured in this way, taking their place in GQ’s stellar Men of the Year Awards.”
The GQ Men of the Year Awards 2013, in association with HUGO BOSS, will be held on Tuesday 3rd September, at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.
