s[edition], the leading digital platform for collecting contemporary art, will exhibit a one-?of-?a-?kind digital art gallery as part of WIRED magazine’s first holiday Pop-?Up store in the UK, sponsored by Samsung SMART TV. Open from 30th November to 5th December at The Quadrant Arcade, 80 Regent Street, the s[edition] digital art gallery will be seen amongst the innovative brands, exhibits and demonstrations that celebrate the concept of the ‘new industrial revolution’.
s[edition]’s digital art gallery will feature stunning limited edition digital pieces from some of the world’s best known artists – including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Shepard Fairey – all of which can be purchased through s[edition] and enjoyed via free apps for smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.
?
s[edition], launched last November by Robert Norton, who was CEO of Saatchi online and Harry Blain of Blain of Blain|Southern gallery, offers everyone an immediate, fun and social way to experience collecting at affordable prices, from £5 to £500. For example, Damien Hirst’s ‘Idolatry’, costs just £8 in an addition run of 10,000.
The platform allows users to follow artists, browse and acquire works through an open marketplace. Each edition is digitally watermarked and sold with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist and can be resold to other collectors once the edition runs out. Some collectors will never want to sell their edition and others will trade continually.
In partnership with Samsung, s[edition] has launched an App for Samsung Smart TV owners. Works purchased on the s[edition] platform can now be streamed on the TV bringing unique works by artists including Yoko Ono, Jake and Dinos Chapman and Peter Saville directly into the home.
