SONOPHORE’ is an Interactive Sound Installation by Brighton based artist duo Signal-To-Noise.
Sonophore can be translated from Latin as ‘sound-carrier’, with the work intending to explore magnetic tape’s physical capacity to hold and transmit sonic information.
A tangible user interface is worn by the participant as they are invited to interact with hundreds of strips of audio tape that laterally span the spaces interior.
As the public explore the space, pre-recorded sounds can be recalled and manipulated in this sonically engaging Interactive Sound Installation.
