FREE Tattoos at The Andaz 5th Avenue in New York City is hosting a rotating art series called tbd Art. This artist-in-residence program features diverse artists with different styles, who each paint a mural of their “View of New York – Today” on the doors leading to the hotel bar downstairs. The artists also offer exclusive experiences for guests at the hotel.
In December, hotel dwellers were able to sidestep a year-long waiting list to get tattoos by world-renowned ink specialist Mister Cartoon, whose clients include Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Beyoncé. Claudia “Claw Money” Gold, a graffiti artist and fashion designer whose designs have been worn by Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, offered a limited-edition t-shirt during her recent residency.
Each piece of art created on the doors is being photographed and turned into limited edition postcards, which are then sold for $5 at the bar with proceeds donated to charity. Source: PSFK
