Thomas Eggerer is joined by David Joselit for this lunch time talk to discuss his practice as a painter. Born in Munich, Germany Thomas Eggerer studied Painting at the Art Academy in Munich. In the mid-1990s he collaborated with Jochen Klein on a series of projects relating to questions of identity and public space and joined Group Material, a New York based artist’s collective. He later returned to painting and his work has been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide and is represented in the permanent collections of museums in America and Europe. He has recently taught at Bard College and Harvard University and lives and works in New York.
David Joselit is a Professor of History of Art at Yale University whose interests encompass a range of movements from Dadaism to globalisation and new media in the 21st century. David has also worked as a curator for The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston during the 1980s and is currently an editor of OCTOBER.
