Valentine Fournier
From December 5th 2011 to January 7th 2012
Five artists from different backgrounds put their art in a box, and colette brings them all together. From London, co-founder of KLF, James Cauty, presents A Riot in a Jam Jar , composed of miniature characters on a 1/87 scale. In contrast, the young French Gatz uses these figurines for “Box Stories” full of humor and poetry. Berlin’s Sarah Illenberger provides us with boxes filled with souvenirs, found objects, while those of Valentine Fournier are made from second hand photos for surreal scenes. Finally, the boxes of Ronan-Jim Sévellec are seething with detail to accurately reconstruct the strange world of the past.
