PLUS all the galleries in Peckham are open this evening for the very special inauguration of PAMI the new Peckham Artists’ Moving Image Festival. PAMI is an initiative to highlight moving image artwork made by an international selection of artists in a concentrated four-day programme of exhibitions and events across Peckham. Runs 15th – 18th September. See www.pami.org.uk

As part of PAMI we will be screening Agnes Martin’s 1976 film Gabriel on Saturday 17th September 2011, at 1.30 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to see this work by one of Twentieth Century’s foremost abstract painters.

This group exhibition takes its title from a little-known short book by J.R.R. Tolkien first published in 1964. The book contains two works, an essay called “On Fairy-Stories” and an allegorical short story called “Leaf by Niggle”.
