GO SEE | Beach London | Sean Morris | Killer Abs Will Kill You | Private View Tonight Thursday 18th August 2011

This has truly been a summer for Beach, now on their third exhibition since opening last month the Cheshire Street gallery (just off Brick Lane) is going from strength to strength

Tonight Beach London presents  KILLER ABS WILL KILL YOU, the first London solo show by Australian artist Sean Morris.

Doubling as a launch for his zine of the same name, KILLER ABS WILL KILL YOU features a collection of sweaty, super fit illustrations, which form perhaps the ultimate anti-workout guide. Part ‘tribute’ to the glory days of Mr. Universe and Jazzercise, part vision of a world where denim cutoffs are the ultimate workout attire and beer hats exist in harmony with fit balls… KAWKY takes you inside the swamp gym of your dreams, where Jane Fonda smokes cigarettes with her toes and real men lift barbells with their nipples.

Hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Sean Morris is an painter and illustrator who has been exposing Australian audiences to his brand of grotesque character work and explorations of trash culture for several years. Following a recent 3-way show at Bold Hype in New York City, KILLER ABS WILL KILL YOU is his debut international solo show.

Head to Beach tonight to witness the fitness for yourself. Super limited edition A3 risograph prints, installation paintings, some dude who came all the way from Australia to drink beers with you, and of course the zine itself: 28 pages, riso printed, edition of 200. Comes with a free poster featuring Hulk Hogan, seven mean girls and some palm trees.

Opens at 6pm
