1 If you weren’t an artist, what else would you be?
Quite fancy being an MP.

2 Name 3 of your least favourite artists.
Cant say least fav, but the ones I like are Emily Carr, Van Gough and Danny Lane

3. Anytime, any place – which artist’s body would you most like to inhabit?
Andy Warhol, he seemed to have fun.

4 What is your favourite ‘ism’?
Surealism, it can be clever and disturbing at the same time.

5 What was the most intelligent thing that someone said or wrote about your work?

The symbolism of the pieces gave a clear message to the observer. (Speaking of glass goblets sandblasted with abstract images of Holy Spirit included in ‘Pieces for the Alter’)

6. And the dumbest?
Is that a pendant? (When clearly looking at a pendant)

7 Which artists would you most like to rip off, sorry, I mean appropriate as a critique of originality and authorship?

8 Do you care what your art costs? State your reasons!

Yes, as someone who has struggled with money I dont want to price out the average person from owning art, so I make two lines, one for public, one for galleries.

9 What are the three big ideas that you would like your work to express?
The presence of spirit, the creative force of light, the interconnection of us all.


10 Are you a political artist?

I have done some pieces that were Social Statements( Zero to 16 series), not sure political.

11 How do you start the process of making work?

First in my head, then struggle with the sketch book.

12 What next?
Last year of my degree, would love to be able to make really big pieces people could walk into.

13 If Moma and the Tate and the Pompidou wanted to acquire one of your works each, which would you want them to have?
Better get busy then, have not made them yet.

14 Complete the following sentence “Blessed art the artists, for they shall……” Be the vessel to bring forth from light and shadow all those emotions that the human heart can hold.

15 Complete the following sentence “Blessed are the curators, for they shall…”Create and manage the spaces required to allow the artists voices to speak.

16 Complete the following sentence “Blessed are the art critics, for they shall….” Often be wrong, but on occasion they shine a light on work tha totherwise may have passed unseen.

17. What is your favourite cheese? Dont eat cheese, but it would have to be Canadian Mature Chedder.

18. What’s next for you?
Hope to create a company running creative projects with schools.Young creative people are often not academic, they need to see that they can succeed and find a voice through art.
