“Maureen Paley is staging a solo show. Early works consisted of spray-painted stencils culled from magazines and adverts, fighting for space on the canvas. His recent, more complex paintings suggest he has found a way of combining the dark, heady energy of previous works and a more abstract appeal.”
On September 20th at Art Basel Unlimited 4 galleries will jointly present AIDS Cross (1991/2021), the most recent of General Idea’s history of AIDS works in various media.
