Renowned British performance artist Shaun Caton (UK) has presented some 280 performances in major galleries, museums and festivals worldwide since the early 1980’s. He calls his performances ‘living breathing images’ and often paints/draws during a self induced trance.

Creating images was always about telling a story, whether a stand-alone iconic image, a series of images, a book, or a film, a natural evolu- tion of the same line of enquiry and my own personal creative journey.

The performance is called the ‘Unscene Underbelly’ this curious title came to me in a daydream. I refers to something that is not a part of a scene or a school, that quite probably very unique and out on a limb. It also refers or relates to something that’s slightly hidden from view, secretive, an ‘underbelly’.
